Research Projects

In addition to its compounds in clinical development, WILEX is conducting several research programs targeting components of the uPA system:

• Orally available highly specific inhibitors of uPA (WX-77X-series)

In the uPA program, WILEX is developing selective uPA inhibitors which can be orally administered. The WX-77X-series of compounds is derived from the Company's molecule WX-508, a potent and specific inhibitor of human uPA. WX-508 shows a much higher selectivity for uPA when compared to the serine proteases plasmin and thrombin. The Company has synthesised a number of derivatives (WX-77X-series) and is currently examining these for their pharmaceutical and pharmacological properties.
